The MIAX home, earth and timber crews all had a role in the substantial renovation of this once seasonal home. Homeowners wanted to transform this property into a full time residence. A new primary bedroom & bathroom addition, with a custom second story music room was a complete addition to the existing 4000 sqft home. A newly vaulted second floor bedroom with shed dormers and a large mother in law suite that was remodeled into two separate & private guest areas increased comfortable space for guests and family. The entire home was upgraded with 2 1/2 inch hardwood Ash flooring, solid hard maple doors, all windows were replaced with Marvin energy efficient windows, all existing bathrooms were updated with custom tile showers, glass enclosures and heated floors. The existing kitchen was remodeled showcasing local custom made hard maple cabinetry with Vermont slate countertops and flooring. A complete exterior retrofit took place using thermal treated hemlock siding and pressure treated primed trim. The home was completely insulated with zip-R, Roxul insulation and blown in cellulose. A 20kw solar array was installed and the home's heating system was upgraded to a heat pump hydronic baseboard and panel system. Timber services included two rough sawn timber decks and our earthwork services included all site work and hydraulically hammering a ledge vein running through the foundation site for the primary bedroom addition.
